Our Employees

Our greatest asset is our dedicated workforce...

Engineers

Engineers

All of our buses are original configurations by our engineering staff, made precisely to meet our customers’ specifications. Not only are our engineers flexible in meeting bid requirements, but they also work hand-in-hand with the customers or transit authorities to make changes to meet specific needs even after the bid has been won.

Our engineers enjoy a challenging but rewarding work environment where they create, collaborate, and problem solve. They work hard to continually improve our buses to optimize safety and reliability. For more information about exactly how they are improving passenger safety, please visit our safety page in the engineering section of this website.

Operators

Coach & Equipment operators are the individuals on the plant floor that turn specifications into tangible realities. Operators use stream-lined assembly processes to maximize efficiencies and accuracy. Because many of our components are fabricated in-house, our operators not only have the responsibility of assembling the buses, but also of ensuring the proper fabrication of many of the materials. These operators have various talents and are cross-trained on different stations to develop skills in a variety of areas. However, what really sets our operators apart is their friendly comradery, attention to detail, and excellent work ethic. This makes them an indispensable part of the Coach & Equipment team.

Our operators are members of the United Automobile, Aerospace, and Agriculture Implement Workers of America (UAW) Local 1097. Coach & Equipment works closely with the Union to ensure that each operator benefits from this relationship.

Put your academic knowledge to the test with an internship at Coach & Equipment. We are excited to employ paid engineering interns each year. Our interns gain real world experience collaborating with our engineers, completing original projects, and using industry standard engineering software.

As an intern as Coach & Equipment, you can expect a friendly work environment that challenges and grows your skills. As a major manufacturing company operating in a small town community, we understand how to work together as a family to remain competitive in our industry.

If you are interested in joining our Coach & Equipment family for a fun and challenging internship experience, please contact our Human Resource Manager at (315) 536-2321 ext. 3.
